OT: American Politics

I think you guys can find fuel for (or water to pour on) your theory if you just look up the dates of Pfizer’s phase three trials. If they finished weeks ago, and sat on the data for no apparent reason, OK, maybe there’s something to this. If they made an announcement as soon as the trials were complete, that would suggest the opposite.
It could be argued that trials were delayed for scientific reasons when in fact they weren't. That's the rub here, there is no definite proof that it happened or that it did not happen and each side will grasp on that.

My position is that it could have very well happened, not that it actually did. The possibility is not zero, which is what Preston and turd are saying.

Did you miss something? Yeah, a brain and a misunderstanding of American Health laws and procedures. It could have been announced earlier and would have if they were on the Trump train.

Could it have happened? Yes.

Did it? Who knows but no, that's too unconscionable for you.

Lmao.

You are now arguing that there is no benefit to a) doing the right and legal thing and b) beating every other company to the punch and c) currying favor with the biggest government in the world, and that there is no downside to a) breaking the law, b) ruining your reputation, and c) pissing off the biggest government in the world.

All to defend a completely baseless conspiracy with no identifiable benefit or motivation.

This is so stupid.

Nor will I understand why everything that fulfills confirmation bias is accepted as gospel.

Once again, could it have happened? Yes. Did it? Who knows.
I'm 99.5% sure that I know what the truth is in this case. To your point, sure there's a 0.5% chance that something else happened. Is a 0.5% probability worth discussing and regurgitating online on twitter and various forums to the point where people are convinced they're right? Of course not. It's dangerous nonsense. Like most conspiracy theories.

Eh actually 99.5% is probably low. But I'll give habsy the benefit of the doubt.

So there. The chances of this conspiracy theory being even half true are above 0%. That doesn't make it worth discussing in a serious way. I feel the same way about bill gates 5g shit.

Your stupidity isn't going to work turd. Your shiftiness is done with. You are purporting I am saying that it actually happened. I am saying it could have. You provide me proof that it 100% did not.

Anyone that disagrees with you gets this treatment instead of providing facts which to date you have not on this. Not a one. You've provided opinion.

When there are no concrete facts to prove or disprove it becomes a probability issue and the probability is not zero on either end.

Stuart Stevens was a prominent influencer of Republican politics and worked on Bush's campaign in 2000 and Romney in 2012, among others. He wrote the book It Was All A Lie about how so much of it was bullshit.

This podcast interview between Al Franken and Stevens is really interesting, as they take a deep dive into the history of certain Republican ideas and how they manifested in the Bush presidency through to Trump, and what happens next.

Definitely worth a listen if you're interested. Great convo.

Please provide the statistical regressions along with the variables that helped you derive this number or better yet, admit you pulled it out of your ass because it's your opinion. Thanks.

Nah. You need to provide the data and facts to prove your conspiracy first. Because it looks like that was pulled out of your ass too.

Humans know that realistically there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that they'll never know. They're correct about that. But when they try to guess them with conspiracy theories they're usually pathetic attempts at getting them right. Some are interesting and would make for good movies but this one in particular is horrible. The motive doesn't even make sense.

Great stuff.

"Trump’s win forced me to get outside of my bubble a bit and try to understand his appeal outside the urban pockets of fabulousness I inhabited. It opened my eyes to the lasting structural racism and resentments that still plague our polity. It made me recognize that a lot of the oppo research drops I had specialized in and that I thought were just part of “the game” contributed to a toxic media disinformation stew that was driving parts of the country off the deep end.

It made me prioritize a bunch of issues that I never really saw as being up for debate between the parties—free and fair elections, pluralism, freedom of religion, the rule of law, welcoming immigrants, basic competence, governing for all Americans regardless of whether they voted for you. As it turns out, my old party was on the wrong side of basically all of those. Meanwhile I deprioritized a bunch of things I used to really care about.

I’m just being real here: Who gives a fuck about the top marginal tax rate and WOTUS regulations when our actual democracy is under threat by a sitting president who is simultaneously trying to overturn an election and actively exacerbating a pandemic that has killed 250,000 Americans on his watch by holding insane superspreader rallies and peddling anti-science nonsense? Not me."

So when I say there is no concrete proof to confirm or deny which leaves it to a probability opinion I have to provide facts that there are no facts other than the word of the company?

Dude, please.

You're the one stating a definitive. You're the one that needs to prove it's definitive.

It's also telling that your mind felt compelled to hedge your stance with the word "usually" which clearly implies it could be the other way.

Dude this is the stupidest shit.

This discussion is exhausting and going in circles. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely, given the info we have access to? No. Let's just say it's 95% probably a bullshit conspiracy theory and talk about something that is actually interesting.

Like the Al Franken interview with Stuart Stevens.

Is bin Laden dead? Did Obama really win his elections? Has every election been rigged? Was 9-11 an inside job? Is bill gates actually not going to plant chips inside of us? We don't have actual proof of almost anything in life so let's fire off some conspiracy theories because surely I'm right!

pissing off the biggest government in the world.
They just did that. Donald is pissed.

So if you think it's the career government they are concerned about then perhaps they were so concerned they waited because announcing early could have pissed them off.

Still waiting for your concrete proof it did not happen.

So it's gone from 99.5 to 95.

I'll wait for the recount.

In any event, I'll take that as a concession and move on. Unless others don't, then it will continue.

Is bin Laden dead?

Yes, they had the body
Did Obama really win his elections?

Yes, as did Biden
Has every election been rigged?

No but if you mean the 1800's then probably.
Was 9-11 an inside job?
Can neither confirm or deny. What it was in fact was a complete disregard for intelligence that showed it was likely to happen.
Is bill gates actually not going to plant chips inside of us?

Ask Bill
We don't have actual proof of almost anything in life so let's fire off some conspiracy theories because surely I'm right!

False.

Carry on with the politics talk. I like to stay out of that unless it's to mock the Glenn narcissist cult. But when stupid conspiracy theories get thrown out I feel obliged to step in.
