Around the League 2019-2025 Edition

I understand the Bruins moving on....but surprised Chara took his talents elsewhere.

That part doesn’t surprise me too much. I think that, like Jagr or Thornton, he’s one of those guys who will keep playing in the NHL until his wheels fall off.

And at that point, he’ll probably head over to Europe and play a few more years.

I guess. I thought the combo of age (44 in March) and all this extra Covid crap would deter him from landing in a new spot. At least, Joe is going home with Cup hopes.

Chara with the Habs would have been funny given their past and the Pacioretty incident

Yeah, this is a bigger loss for the Bruins than it should be. It's one of those subtractions that changes everyone's slotting on that blueline. Chara wasn't great anymore, but he was still good enough to tread water against legit #1 QoC. McAvoy "looked" like a #1 but wasn't really used like one, now he has to be at 23 years old.

Grzlecyk-McAvoy
Moore-Carlo
Lauzon/Clifton/Millar

Is a pretty grim looking blueline to be honest. That's McAvoy and a bunch of 4-5-6 guys. If that was the Leafs blueline, the punch lines about it would literally never stop.

Boston has some space to add a cheapish FA, but there's not a lot there to be had.

Maybe the bonus structure made them balk? I mean it’s not that much in terms of hockey payroll.

As Sal correctly predicted on the Habs board, most US teams have been counting their pennies during this Covid off-season. It’s been a good year to be a Canadian team.

Pretty weak draft year to be doing so
If they didn't fuk up 2015 , they would of been fine

They need youth , even if the draft isn't star powered it has quality

I would trade Rask and Krejci , 2 expiring contracts

18 wheeler will fall of the cliff soon
