Lawton was saying the same thing today.

And I was saying it before any of them. I'd have told Hall to sit tight and enjoy the next 18 game losing streak to end the season.

Part of the deal was that Richard Panik (who I honestly didn't know was still an NHLer) was somehow signed to a contract that paid him a $2.75M cap hit for each of the next two seasons. The contract was also back-loaded, so the money owed to him next year even exceeds that bloated cap hit. So, dumping that deal in a flat cap environment is no small thing for the Caps.

Still a horrific deal though.

Overpayment. Can't believe how many chances this stiff has gotten. Jim Benning isn't the only moron GM. NoGudbranSuck has been living off his draft position/size & year or so where allstar Brian Campbell carried his ass to give the illusion he was a top 4 D.

It's mind boggling for sure but the fact he and Brayden Coburn only fetched 7th's says at least they are somewhat learning
 
Dubas basically came out and said the type of F they were looking for changed based on internal play. I dont think that's just Galchenyuk looking good, i think it's some of the older guys looking like corpses.

Down the stretch they should rest the shit out of Thornton and Simmonds even Spezza although he has still looked good

Yep. The Rangers have already announced they're going to buy him out in the summer.

When your NHL future is as uncertain as DeAngelo's is, you'd be insane to walk away from that money. And if Montreal's interested in him now, they'll probably be interested in him again in the summer.

Yeah, I don't give credence to any rumour that comes from Darren Dreger.

Especially one like this that makes zero sense.
