Montreal Roster Age

Gallagher 29 --- Danault* 28 --- Toffoli 29
Anderson 27 --- Suzuki 22 --- Caufield 21
Drouin 26 --- Kotkaniemi 21 ---
Lehkonen 26 --- Evans 25 --- Byron 32

Edmundson 28 --- Petry 34
Chiarot* 30 --- Weber 36
Kulak 27 --- Romanov 22

Price 34
Allen 31

budgeting around $10m for Danault/Kotkaniemi/Lehkonen I believe this leaves them about $3-4m in capspace to sign one more decent forward.

If you guys could ever get out of the first round you'd see what banged up really looks like. Congrats to Tampa on bending the rules enough to build a very solid team. They really have few weaknesses if any.

It was a fun run and something I'll remember till the end. Watching them yesterday you could see many had nothing left. The effort was appreciated.

Gallagher should not have been in the lineup and neither should have Toffoli and Staal. DD loyalty put two players that played a shadow of themselves. They could barely even skate.

Drouin is gone, disabled bus already ordered for the D. It'll be the short bus following the rest.

Drouin is gone how?
He'll get moved for his own good. Somewhere without a spotlight. They may even offer Seattle a pick to take him.

If not he stays on ltir. Tatar and Drouin have played their last game as a Hab, unless MB leaves which I doubt at this point.

is it bad that i am hoping he was apart of the hawks cover up so he can get fired?

I'm hoping the Hawks bring him in to "fix" it. I really believe that's the one team he'd go to if offered because of his kids.

not so sure you can be rid of him so easily.

It won't be easy but if he can get the help he needs he's still a serviceable top six guy. Someone will take him.

Remember, heavy rumors that he tried to off himself, those kinds of "injuries" (used for ltir purposes) are next to impossible to plan for.

are you saying he is going to give up playing at 26?
You never know. The man had to walk away from a cup run zeke. That's what these guys live for and he had to walk away. His condition is serious.

he was gone well before the Cup run. and I don't think 'walk away' is the right way to frame it. more like, 'mentally/physically unable to play'.

there's way too much we don't know to be able to have any idea of if and/or when he will come back.

for example, if this has been an ongoing thing that he has just self-medicated without any previous professional help, getting him proper treatment and medication could in theory have him back in form for next season. just as an example.

he didn't know he was walking away from a cup run at the time. he was walking away from a badly struggling team that looked like first round fodder.

He could have easily come back once they started winning. He walked away for his own good.
