2021-22 Season Hurricanes Misc. Thread

Kotkaniemi has been decidedly bland, for sure. He started OK, but seems to have grown increasingly lost in his role instead of growing into a bigger role ... so basically the exact opposite of what you'd want. The tools are clearly there, and I'm not sure if the bigger issue is that he's not comfortable on the wing or if the kid's confidence is just shot. Either way, it's a basic issue for a team that actually cares about winning right now ... either get your crap in gear or watch from the press box while somebody else shows you how it's done.

He just does not seem like the type of player willing to put in the extra work it takes to get to another level so far. The tools and size are definitly there but for whatever reason he just seems like a player that is so vanilla and just is not very noticeable most nights. Lots of room to grow still, but you're right JB, no time for this Canes team to wait on the guy if he becomes an anchor, he certainly can afford to buy the boys a few extra steak dinners on the roadies though!!!

Yeah ... I'm not willing to go to the "doesn't work hard enough" label just yet. By all accounts he busted his butt getting ready for the season same as the other guys. He just looks increasingly lost and given what he's been through I'm willing to cut the kid some slack. That said, if somebody's bringing more ... then I wouldn't hesitate to sit him.

Well there you go, its 13 forwards, 7 Dmen and 2 goalies heading out to Vegas. Smith, the 7th Dman, could also play wing in a pinch, but only after Pesce is back.

Sorry KK, I think you are going to get some press box treatment here soon.

I'd rather it worked out like this than have him put up monster numbers for a few months, sign him to a ridiculous 6 year contract, and THEN have him disappear. We just got rid of the last one.

Apparently, Brind’Amour moonlights as a baggage handler at McCarran Airport. Either that or, as Mike Solarte put it in a response to the tweet, he took the opportunity to get a lift in.

About time he did something useful. better than standing behind the bench yelling at the players.

RBA said the bags weren’t heavy enough to get a workout in. Except Abby’s. ;)

He said Pesce is close, he’ll take the morning skate tomorrow and depending on that might take the pregame skate.

IIRC they said something about giving Gelinas a look but that he'd be free to go back to Europe if he wanted. Then he played pretty well in camp and stuck around in Chicago. Meh ... he was an insurance policy at best anyway.

Now we know what’s going into the renovated concession stand on the lower level. We’re getting a Shake Shack.

The line is an hour long right now, and the arena isn't open.

Seriously here ... when you have ONE outlet selling any good thing in an arena, then that good thing will require more of your time to acquire than will ever make sense. Presuming of course that you came to see a game. If you came to eat Shake Shack, then fine.

Yeah, like Ashley Christensen‘s chicken sandwich place in Midtown, I think I’ll wait until the line settles down a bit. Should be around playoff time, I think.

She plans on more outlets eventually, and I'll prolly wait. I'm over the Midtown thing. Kane over-built it to the point were I'm out.

That is exactly what I thought as I walked by that stand Sunday. Definitely love the upgraded food option, but that place is going to be absolutely insane when they open it, and it will stay that way for a long time.
