Habs Season Thread: 2023-24 Season

Ah. Moving the target again. You went from no scoring to 30.
Gallagher’s contract is bad but I’ve seen and read a bunch that says he’s determined to get it back this year and the one thing we all know about Gally is that he isn’t lazy.

Right now Gally is a 1 mil UFA player

Perry , Maroon, Bunting , etc.... can all do what 11 brings to the table now on the cheap

There is no target on Gally , he has been crap for 2 years now and its obvious as night and day

Armia and Hoffman are crap but they arent making 6.5 mil with 5 years left

He better be determined to get back to being a top 6 player

For 2 years?? He was crap last year but he was injured the year before but he was scoring at his usual pace. In fact he was on pace for 32 goals. So he's been injured a lot for the past 3 years, but he only had 1 bad season, last year.

If determination was all it took then Gallagher would be a first ballot hall of famer. The mind is willing but the flesh is weak.

Being "on pace" is the same as "expected Cups". It's not real unless or until you actually do it. A guy who scores 19 goals isn't a "basically" 20 goal scorer and injuries are very common among players with the size and playing style that Gallagher has.

There is also a difference between playing badly and not playing. I never said he scored 30 goals, just that his production was following his normal production pace. Last year was the only year where Gallagher's play was subpar.

Even if he potted 30 this year Wehave would find an excuse.

Very candid interview of Max Pacioretty, found it riveting.

For some reasons I can't insert it. Just search for raw knuckles Max pacioretty on youtube

The fact that Pacioretty hasn't regressed, and has in fact even gotten better, since leaving us is a real testament to him. He's turning 34 this year and he's had three straight seasons of being in the PPG range.

(Being on a team when he isn't the best forward helps a bunch too)
