I think if Dubas had been aware that Jonas suggested a deal very similar to this, he would have cancelled it.

Interesting to go for Jake McCabe over someone like Ekholm. But seems like a good get thanks to the retention. Based on his Dom player card, solid enough but unspectacular.

I would assume Lafferty is just a 5th line vet in case of injuries.

Maybe the biggest difference between ekholm and McCabe for the next 2 season is 4.25MM in cap hit. That's a Bunting or O'Reilly amount of coin left over.
