I really like what I am seeing in terms of offense and defense from Lilly and Gio.

If Holl is gone in a deal, I won't be too upset. I think the pair of Gio and Lilly is the best bet. Then I do the Mcabe Brodie pair.

That unfortunately leaves Sandin with Reilly. Don't like that.

Maybe Kerfoot and Holl can go to Van for Garland and Schenn.

Lots of love for him, but he's 8th on the depth chart right now. Signed cheap for 2 more years so he'll get his chance to stick. It's not this playoffs though barring injuries.

Our blueline is deep as fuck though. Sandin-Timmins are our #7-8 and they're top top tier 3rd pairing.

McCabe could definitely be a Holl replacement. Yeah, I could see that scenario work. Garland with some retention + Schenn for Kerfoot + Holl + stuff. Schenn becomes #6-7
 
maybe not the deal I wanted, but McCabe at 2 million is a good Holl(UFA) replacement. don't know Lafferty at all but he can't be worse than Simmonds or an AHLer.

I could see Sandin and the 2024 first bring in something hella interesting. But now we are getting a bit greedy methinks.

I would nut like ME for Garland and Schenn... OR Crouse

If they actually pull this off I'm building a Dubas statue in my front yard. Even if it leads to 0 success, I don't give a fuck. That would be cool and fun as shit.

Something to keep in mind re: Lafferty is that his contract is just under the maximum you can send to the AHL without cap penalty. So if he turns out to be shit, we're not tied to him. Throw him and on waiver and if he clears, off to the Marlies with no cap consequences. Timmins is in the same boat there fwiw.
 
I like how fucking strong this McCabe guy holds up defensively in all these nerdy charts despite getting ridiculously tough usage on an absolutely tire fire team. I know that these models don't really put enough weight on usage so I'm very happy to see that. Hope his play can translate well to a new system.
