Seems a bit weird. A good player is a good player. He scuffled a bit to start the year in detroit but was a tick under PPG in his time in Boston even in a 3rd line role after being a tick under ppg the previous 2yrs in detroit. Led Boston in playoffs scoring too.
 
If nobody wants any of the top UFA then who cares if they pay Reaves 500k over league min.

You of all people understand the impact of wasting valuable cap dollars on boat anchors that will block an ELCer from contributing on the fourth line
 
Like we just walked away from gritty defense in ROR and Schenn even though both were likely motivated to give us at least a bit of a discount.

Why all the fear that brad will go out and overpay other gritty defense?

Not overpay gritty defence so much as waste space and money on pure unplayable truculence aka Ryan Reaves
