move North to a team that hasn’t won the division in 8 years to play with Bo and Vladdy until they’re traded because the GM doesn’t like their risk profile.

I would be surprised, but not shocked.

Toronto has always been a coveted spot for international players in all of the leagues.

Shatkins knows they probably only have one more kick at the can here, so I could see them wanting to swing big and outbid everyone else.

And the Jays have a very good team on paper, which Ohtani would make a favorite to win, I think. And if Vladdy bounces back big, and heck if Manoah reverts to form, we could beat anyone.

He was projected to get North of $500M earlier this year. The injury has probably reduced that but he’s still going to get a monster deal, almost certainly the biggest ever.
