On the one hand, Trump’s persistent belief that he’s entitled to tariff the hell out of the entire rest of the world but nobody else is entitled to take any trade actions in response is totally laughable.
On the other hand, it’s a real frightening possibility that this is a preview of how Trump might respond to Carney’s efforts to build new security and trade alliances with Europe—by specifically threatening any countries in Europe that work with Canada.
Both since he sees us as being in his “sphere of influence” and doesn’t want Europe encroaching on that, and because he doesn’t want anything to get in the way of his stated goal to cripple Canada economically to the point where he can annex us.
They should sign up with China

This is real bad if the EU and other countries end up being bitches and give into trump. Canada would be very very isolated. I don’t think this will be the end result (outside of maybe the UK), but would be a turning point.
