Habs Season Thread: Offseason 2025

I was judging this year based on the development of key players.

Suzuki. Great.
Hutson. Amazing.
Caufield. Good.
Dach. Bad.
Slaf. Bad.
Guthle. Good.

Next year we can add Demidov and Reinbacher to the list.

Year after that we add fowler and Hage

I don't think Slaf deserves a "bad." I think he improved his overall game. He's even more physical and he's even blocking shots a bit. Hopefully next year he gets started a lot earlier in the season. He's definitely been a slow starter every season so far.

It's vs my expectation.

I consider that bad development/progress.

But if you want to change it to "not good" then fine.

I dunt think Slaf was bad but stagnant.

Frankly, you are excessively overconfident in your ability to separate coaching issues from player talent and execution issues.

I’m not sure if you have a coherent process or ability to make that distinction
Since you added to your post, what coherent process do you have to validate yours? Seem to be debating in the ether here. I'm going to ask Arpon. Seriously.

He always selects me when he does Q &A

I believe that sometimes the best position is remaining agnostic. I’m wiling to be patient until the Habs roster fills out and I have more evidence before weighing in with the certitude you have now

That also allows for the maturing of coaching so it taints it. You can choose to be patient, which is often the right move, but for the sake of this discussion it changes the variables both on the ice and off.

The only certitude that I have is that there are better options than Robidas.

I agree with Habsy on this…

We have too many inexperienced coaches behind the bench….yes, even after 3 years i still consider MSL are an inexperienced coach (he hasn’t been playoff tested yet)

No thanks to experienced coaches.
