GDT: Round 1, Game 5 Canes v. Devils 4/29 7:30

Also ... for the record ... I have been using earplugs this season since my ears ain't what they used to be. It was pure white noise at times last night, especially in the 2nd when the Canes were on that 3 goal run. Just earth moving noise.
I had em in my pocket this series, used em game 1 but should have last night... I've already heard about it from my Mother too (never stop, Mom 😀)

The crowd noise was indeed deafening and just the pure elation and relief when you come out on the winning end of that type of game is just what playoff hockey is all about...nothing quite like it!!! Sometimes you're talking about a fraction of an inch or an unlucky bounce deciding games like that but last night in the third and all of the overtime periods it seemed like the Canes just did not want to be denied on home ice.

If your ears ring after the event then you’re damaging your ears and you should’ve been wearing protection. Take that advice from someone who learned the hard way (and now wears earplugs).

I hated this game and loved this game. The fact the Hurricanes came out flat, allowed NJ to take a 3-0 lead in the first and had to play in 2sudden death OT periods should be a lesson to this team— but we have seen time and again, the team does not always start on time.
However, those 2nd, 3rd and the OT periods were clinics on getting it done, controlling the puck and play, and just exerting pressure shift after shift.
