OT: American Politics

Ahead of Trump-Carney meeting, US commerce secretary says Canada's 'socialist regime' has been 'feeding off of America'

One day before the newly elected Canadian prime minister, Mark Carney, visits the White House to meet Donald Trump, Howard Lutnick, the US commerce secretary, accused Canada of being a “socialist regime” that has been “feeding off of America” for decades.

Lutnick made his undiplomatic remarks to Fox Business host Larry Kudlow, who served as Trump’s top economic advisor during his first term when the president took pride in negotiating the USMCA trade pact with Mexico and Canada to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement.

But when Kudlow asked Lutnick about the prospects for a new US trade deal with Canada, the commerce secretary scoffed at the idea. “Why do we make cars in Canada?” he asked. “Why do we do our films in Canada? Come on!”

These guys always get embolden and increasingly Trumpian. But forget that only Trump can get away with it. Eventually everyone else goes

So now Trump is trying to get Pee-Pee defeated in the by-election too?

It reads like a series of drunken Trump tweets strung together and fed into ChatGPT to make it stupider and more incoherent.

Embarrassing failure of a country. If she actually did write this drivel herself, she should be fired as Secretary of Education immediately and replaced by the Ultimate Warrior.
She is right about one thing: why the fuck does Harvard even need government money? I understand not turning it down if offered but if it was suddenly rescinded they'd barely notice.

With the money it already has, Harvard could easily afford not only time go it alone, but also to double its student body. It doesn't, of course, to keep open spots scarce so they can justify their exorbitant tuition fees. But if I were the Sec. Of Ed. I'd demand more value for that public money in the form of more admissions. If U of T can have nearly 100K students why can't Harvard have more than the approximately 30K it has now?

Everything else in that letter was, of course, batshit.
