The Democrats problem is that they're not willing to fight the GOP on the ground that favours them. The Dems are a pro corporate party at their heart, and you can't straddle the two. The GOP is vulnerable on workers wages, rights, etc...but that's all pro labour stuff that is kryptonite to the Democrat's donor base. The Democrats could sell emotion too if they really wanted to, but they're emotions that scare democrat donors, so yeah...that shit isn't happening.

The irony is that whatever Noem can think of putting them through, they all went through much worse just to get to the border. The Darian Gap, getting robbed or abducted by central american gangs as you pass through, getting on La Bestia and not falling off, getting robbed, raped, murdered or abducted by cartels.

There was actually a mass grave found some months back where it looks like the local cartel were adbucting male migrants and making them fight to the death for entertainment and then just forcefully recruiting the winner into their cartel.

All of that before they even get to meet up with the coyote they've paid to get them across a heavily policed border with 500 KM of desert on either side of.
