GDT: Eastern Conference Final, Game 4 Canes @ Panthers 5/26 8:00

I am tonight years old to learn that if you are on the ice and your team scores a goal, you do not get a +1. The Panthers were shut out, Nikishin got an assist and he's a 0 for +/- tonight. How is he not a +1?
Box score ("Game Summary") has Slavin and Orlov on ice for that goal.. did he pass it up to Stanky and change off before the goal? I'd have to watch the replay

Yes I noticed that stat immediately.

I saw that too. He’s definitely a +1 for the game. All scoring sheets have it as a “0”. Wish I see this updated tomorrow. Doesn’t make sense.

Shift chart confirms.. Nikishin changed off for Slavin at 10:43, goal scored

upon further review, Nikishin was off the ice when Stank scored. It’s exact, but I rarely see that happen

Agree totally - I am torn.

My problem with the ending of this season is that the narrative will be "Canes 0-16 in ECF" - which is true but really spread over 16 years -- so totally different teams with different players/coaches (mostly). That is all anyone will think or talk about - any maybe rightly so, because the team does need to get bigger and nastier to compete at this level. I hope the management/ownership comes to understand that and look to the future.

BUT -- I keep going back to last summer, when we lost 1/3 of our defense and a few up front and replaced with 'spare parts'. Many of us were wondering if this team could even make the playoffs as constructed - and here they are. So while this one is going to hurt as a fan -- and I really hope the management feels that as well - I am going to try to choose to celebrate the success they had this season with a team backloaded with spare parts. I do feel for Burns and Staal because I feel like this might have been their swan song -- but who knows the future....

I also will pull for Edmonton -- I hope they have learned from their experience last year and can pull that forward.
Hey there!! Are we related?? Are you a Wisco guy too??

Nice to see the Canes we all know and love show up.
Wish Janky's goal had counted - a Stanky/Janky combo is just too sweet.
Nikishin looks like he belongs in the lineup.
I'm back on the Canes love train.
