Florida doesn’t force their D to do much on the exit. They’re much closer together on the breakout.

Berube wants stretch passes and Benoit to go end to end.

Though I do think they need a high end offensive producer now that Rielly stinks.

I actually don't think the leafs were poorly off in terms of pmd. Rielly McCabe OEL are all good at it. Tanev and Benoit are very mobile too.

I agree, but they're definitely lacking a true offensive D. Makar, Bouchard, Werenski, Hutson, etc.

Granted, lots of other teams are too.

Would sure be nice if they somehow used the 2nd rounder this year to grab a gem late like they did with Knies, just on the backend.

Man, if we'd drafted Hutson, had him this year at the elc price, allowing us to not need say OEL and using that savings (plus, if they had a brain, the savings from losing Kampf, Krok, and Reaves), so that we could upgrade at forward...

We'd still be playing now, no doubt.

Yup, and I'm watching this thinking, if they lose 6-1, and lose the series 4-1, do they suddenly look to dump one of their best players going ufa?

I'm still torn on what to do with Marner, but I know for sure that a big loss here doesn't result in the hockey world blasting the Stars and zeroing in on any one player that they decide has to go at all costs.
