OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Max is starting in AAA on Friday, team wants him to get 2 starts but the spec is Max controls this. Regardless without any setbacks it seems like Max should be back with 1-2 weeks.

At that rate i would run out

Gausman
Berrios
Bassitt
Lauer/Turnbull/Pen
Scherzer

Francis, barring a silly turnaround starting with @Philly needs to go to AAA, and regardless of the status of he, Manoah, Max, and the Lauer/Turnbull spot i think they very much need an arm at the deadline.

Okay I'm legit impressed now. This is kinda nuts. Gimme a four game sweep of the Yanks or Dodgers and I'd say just raise the banner now.

What arms are looking available early on? I still think they probably go on a slump to even back to .500 but hopefully they don’t and keep it humming! Positionally, who/what do we upgrade or bench wise at the deadline?

trade deadline targets would have to concentrate on SP, and top-end SP.

no need to add depth guys anywhere else. sure getting another star hitter would be great but assets should be going for SP.

Assuming they are available

Freddy Peralta
Chris Sale ( if Braves fade)
Sandy Alcantara ( if my scouts loved him)
Zac Gallen ( if he figures his shit out)
Merrill Kelly
Mitch Keller
Walker Buehler ( maybe)
Tyler Anderson ( i guess?)

Nimmalla and Yesavage would be off limits and Johnny King would be close ( but for Peralta or Sale id think long and hard)

Ater Freddy, it gets kinda, just okay unless Gallen and Alcantara regain their form, all of the last 4 fit in as a 3/4 guy offering varying degress of things i like.

While we are making lists

Everyday bats i would consider

Marcell Ozuna ( pending FA, i can live with Santander in the OF)
Taylor Ward ( probably my fave add)
Luis Robert ( i mean, is he bad or just White Sox Stink)
Cedric Mullens ( ideally i'd prefer a RHH, but this dude is pretty good)
Ryan O Hearn ( i mean, he might be good, i dunno)
Yandy Diaz ( if Rays sell, yes, please)

RHH that mash lefties that i consider an upgrade over Straw/Schneider

Rob Refsnyder ( INF old friend, actually rakes LHP, seriously)
Randal Grichuk ( no, seriously, i get it, but he hits LHP really well)
Jorge Soler ( i mean technically owns a baseball glove)

Our 4th string catcher is hitting 430 into mid june

Btw he’s a career 390 hitter at sky dome
Yup, Tyler Heineman is rocking a .429 / .441 / .625 statline in the middle of June.

All we need to do now is make sure he gets enough at-bats to quality for the batting title in order to beat Ted Williams record of .406 in 1941.

The sad thing is there was no need at all to start Francis today. They're in the middle of a bunch of off days and could have skipped him while still having all the starters on extra rest. Even worse, starting him today doesn't even time right for them to skip a #5sp next time through, so we need francis or someone else to go again now.

This had nothing to do with the roster just with the org thinking francis is something important somehow.
