OT: World Politics

I'm not coming down on one side or the other here but these leaks seem to contradict what has come out of France and Germany so far.

France:

"Iran is continuing to enrich uranium without any civilian justification and to levels that are very close to what is needed for a nuclear device," Macron said. "Iran’s nuclear program is a serious concern and must be resolved through negotiation,"

did trump start using “We” after the Germans basically praised the Israelis for doing the “dirty work”.
Trump is going to bandwagon jump all the way to the end..
this is all going to end up being “his” accomplishment, his doing.
His cult will believe him and the rest of the universe will laugh at him.

I thought I saw stronger language elsewhere - don't have time to look it up today but if this is all there is then yah that's not much.

I think there was a UN report a few days ago that said Iran was enriching more than the nonproliferation agreement allowed.

not sure he said nukes were imminent tho. but maybe.

I do recall seeing that they had increased from 60% enrichment to 80% recently, but I'm not certain on that. I think 90% is what is required for weapons.

of course, for civilian purposes you never need to enrich above 4%.

Problem is Iran didn't let the international organizations in to audit. Meanwhile Isreal clearly has a big presense on the inside.

Doesn't mean Bibi isn't lying though. But if he's lying he knows for a fact he's lying. They have the intel.

pretty sure the US has the intel too.

while I understand why people are interested in whether nuclear breakout was imminent (since it was the justification provided for the pre-emptive strike), can someone explain to me how you can argue that Iran's uranium enrichment far beyond civilian levels was never designed to be part of a weapons program?

if that's true, why bother wasting the time enriching beyond 4%?
