OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

I mean, on one hand....Green hasn't really broken out yet as a star, but demanded star money in negotiations and got it, so there were rumours of them not being thrilled with him and looking to move him. Brooks was starting to wear out his welcome, which should surprise no one, and the 10 in this draft isn't that valuable.

But that's still more than they should have been willing to give up for KD, who they now get to extend for 50+ million a year as a 38-40 yr old.

Suns for real depth chart right now

PG - Booker
SG - Green, Beal, Grayson Allen
SF - Brooks, Cody Martin, Dunn
PF - O'neal, Ighodaro
C - Richards

Yeah, turning Green into a wing would be a good idea.

Is Green for RJ and things something i should muse about

They're kind of the same guy if you squint though....high lottery picks who were given too much rope too soon in their respective offences and were never expected to develop within an efficient offence...so they didn't. Different skill packages though, so it's a pick your poison there. RJ is a really good cutter/slasher who doesn't have the handle to be a classic 2 guard that can beat people 1 on 1, shoot jumpers on the move, etc and if you don't contain him in his role, he's inefficient in a hurry. Green has those classic 2 guard skills, but doesn't shoot the 3 or finish at the rim efficient enough to really be that guy. Both are slightly below average defensively. Green because he's too light and gets bodied easily, RJ because his feet are heavy and shit.

So it would be a pick your poison choice imo. You pick Green if you think him being 18 months younger and more classically talented can help you turn him into an efficient version of what he is now (which honestly, becomes a top 15-20 offensive player). You pick RJ if you think you can contain him in a more defined role, giving him a restricted diet of shots he's efficient at making (lane cuts and spot up 3's) and you like the extra cap space.

For where we are, I'd rather be looking at RJ + 9 for Cam Johnson + whatever than RJ for Green. But this is what you pay pro scouts for. To spot players like Green who maybe haven't been developed right and have star potential still.

One of the Suns beat guys is saying that they're not looking to trade Green, and are planning one going with a Booker-Green backcourt.

They'll obviously try to move Beal, but man...gonna be hard to find any takers unless Beal waives his no trade to go to Milwaukee, which he totally fucking should.

There are some who think those in on Durant pivot to Demar and Monk.

I simply refuse to believe that's us.

In fact if there ever was a Pat Riley move, it this.

Demar is a Heat Culture kind of a guy, but there's too much overlap between him and Herro imo. Herro made his jump last year by becoming hyper efficient in the mid range.

It was my first thought when I heard he was playing with the "calf strain". Yeah, this is one of the very few times in life you risk blowing your achilles....but it's definitely a risk.

Fuck, I hope it's not that.

Just saw a replay, you can see it give...fuck. I wanted Shai and Dort to get their chip, but I love Hali. This sucks.
