Habs Season Thread: Offseason 2025

Who gives a shit? Price getting into the HHOF doesn't get us closer to winning a Cup and he'll get in probably next year. Besides, we're talking about a hall of "fame" which includes such luminaries as Bernie Federko and Leo Boivin. It's not that big a deal. Last time I was in the so-called "Great Hall" at the HHOF I spent most of my time laughing at all the palookas who somehow got voted in by the Jim Gregory-Dick Irvin Old Boys Club. The HHOF is a joke.
 
I'm not overly miffed....Pricer is still banking an NHL salary and hasn't officially retired yet. Maybe he'll suit up for our playoff run next spring!

True.

I know he's de facto retired but if you're still being paid a player's salary and it is still fucking with the team's cap, as Price's is, you shouldn't be eligible for the HHOF. The clock should only start when you cash your last paycheque.

This idea that international tournaments , AHL , etc makes all the difference is bullshit

Since his MVP days he has done nothing HOF worthy , its all mired in inconsistency or injuries

This is a tale of 2 careers ..rookie to 2014 MVP elite ... 2015 onward incomplete

He didnt get fucked at all ....12 years of incomplete is a massive sample size

He was also inconsistent until 2013-14 and struggled in the playoffs most year. Then he had a short peak of domination before getting marred by injuries. Too bad we never managed to build a team in front of him. Not even a pure suffocating defensive team.
