What assets? once Habs pay Price’s $5M bonus on Sept 1, SJS would be on the hook for $2M actual salary majority of it paid by insurance.

The asset to be surrendered will be a 3rd rounder, maybe a 3rd + 4th. Theres no way SJS will fill $53M of unused AAV with the cap rising…

Seeing how things are going on the market, virtually nothing of note is available.

Best course of action is to work on that margins. Replace armia , Dvo and Savard with better versions and call it a summer.

If a hockey trade for a long term solution to the 2C position isnt available or is too "expensive", we can always get Giroux as a 1 year stop-gap. Or maybe Dach finally pulls his finger out.
