I’m not assuming that either. Just saying that if this is all that we do it’s still ultimately will be a significant improvement.Yes, if you assume they're done. I'm not.
Walker is probably the easiest to shift. He's spent a ton of NHL time playing on his off side. Chatfield has as well, but not very effectively. Slavin can play anywhere, but you'd hate to limit him.
Look. It's been a long morning already :0)Don't we need a lefty to move to the right side though? Slavin, Nikishin, Ghost or Miller would have to play at RD if they are our top 6.
In regards to the Miller contract, Bowen Byram is about to be traded in the same sort of offer sheet spectrum trade as Miller was yesterday, the extension prediction on Byram, also an RFA, is coming in over $7 million per on a multi-year deal. Byram is 23, 6'1" left shot defenseman with 31 points in 82 games last year.I'm not a huge fan of the contract. No surprise. But I'm also not stupid enough to hope he does terrible. I hope he turns a corner and becomes a stud. The Canes need the grit and size. I'm not crying about Morrow leaving, he wasn't cracking the top this year. But Tulsky rolled some HUGE dice on that contract.
I agree, was a little tipsy at the time. Still not a huge fan of the 8 years or the use of assets but it is what it is.If you're judging dmen by their goal scoring, you're going to be greatly disappointed by almost all of them.
I seriously can't think of a less relevant stat to judge a dman by.
I spammed the thread, 100% on me. I apologize. At our last place, there was a moderator on the Politics board that would consolidate posts like that into 1 post, accusing the OP of spamming the board. But they had a history and and routinely took petty swipes at each other. Moderating that board was…interesting, especially when members from another board joined after their unmoderated board went belly up.
No worries we all have those days.I spammed the thread, 100% on me. I apologize.
Do yourself a favor and stop reading these fools opinions. It’s useless. How many times have we signed or traded for a guy and the opposing team swears they’re trash and they get here a play well or even better than well. He’ll be just fine in Raleigh. It's funny seeing all of the Rangers fans complaints about K'Andre Miller. Yes didn't have a great last season, but which Rangers player did?
I'm seeing all of these arguments from Rangers fans about why Miller is terrible....
Big but doesn't play physical
Converted forward who isn't good at defense, should be moved back to forward
Has offensive flash but makes bad decisions on D.
Miller's journey so far is not unlike a certain other Dman who happens to also be 6'5"
* Was a converted forward
* Big but not overly physical
* Was traded when he was 25 years old
Brent Burns.
Now K'Andre Miller isn't going to be become Brent Burns, but this kid is still 25 years old and has a heck of a lot of skills. Burns got better defensively as he worked on his game.
Honestly I think most Rangers fans are:
* Clueless about how badly their team manages young talent.
* Nervous that Miller is actually good and will become really good outside of the Rangers
There is risk for the Canes, but this is a bold acquisition and commitment in a player who clearly has the tools to be a productive top 4 2-way Dman.
Public and semi-public online communities have gotten toxic and anger drunk to the point where they're basically pointless other than as some sort of social experiment.Do yourself a favor and stop reading these fools opinions. It’s useless. How many times have we signed or traded for a guy and the opposing team swears they’re trash and they get here a play well or even better than well. He’ll be just fine in Raleigh.
No, you didn’t. Either that or I’m getting lazy in my dotage.I spammed the thread, 100% on me. I apologize.
I have never once drank a bit too much and come here to this forum and let 'er rip. Never! Not once! Welllllll...outside of those million times that I did.I agree, was a little tipsy at the time. Still not a huge fan of the 8 years or the use of assets but it is what it is.
