i mean maybe, but there are still only so many PA available, and there is no healthy world where both Lopes/Lukes are on the roster

They are both here for the same job. Hit vs RHP, never against LHP, and when you're roster constrained you dont need two of those.

“This team has too much pitching depth”, said nobody ever. If there’s a chance to add pitching, don’t pass on the chance because Eric Lauer is on a hot streak. The rotation depth will figure itself out (via injury or poor performance, like always.)
But also I agree they should go for a big fish this year. Bullpen upgrade is a must. SP upgrade highly desirable. Bats needed. Go all in.

certainly didn't see this coming. Assuming it's for real, a deep playoff run would be great for the city and for those poor souls who have held on for most of the last 35 years. doesn't look like we'll be getting that with the other Toronto teams anytime soon so the spotlight could be theirs for the taking.

Interesting position to be in. Do you mess with a good thing and add another bat? Does that change the vibe in the clubhouse? These guys are rolling.
I think getting a stud reliever or 2 would be a boost without disrupting the team. A top starter would be a big boost. I don’t trust Max or Lauer. We saw Francis be unhittable late last year, where is he now? Can never have enough pitching.
