Of course, most organization try to cover up and settle before going to trial as trials are costly and damaging. Even if at no fault, it's often better to try to settle first as you never know what type of damage trials will do. Case in point, all players and Hockey Canada got damaged in this story.Beyond mere incompetence. There was a conscious effort on their part to cover up what they knew was a crime. Their conduct proves the players' guilt. If the players didn't do anything illegal there'd have been no need for a cover up.
