Brisson is too savvy to come out like that publicly, there’s no new contract to negotiate….agent did Sid’s dirty work without 87 having to take a PR hit.

It’ll be more like Bourque / Iginla scenario..

Bourque and Iginla were chasing Cups because they had none. Crosby has his Cups, gold medals, MVP awards, you name it. He has achieved everything in the game that it was possible to achieve.

But there is one hockey experience, an experience he spent years dreaming about, that he has not yet had, and there's only one franchise in the league that can give it to him.

Spoiler alert: it's not the Colorado Avalanche.

NYR would have to find 8.3M in cap space first this year. Contract extension should be doable thereafter.

Which I’m good with a top ten protected first. Seems fair. If the Habs tank it rolls to 2027.
