2025-26 NHL Miscellaneous Thread

I haven't really followed the whole Carter Hart story, but he was found Not Guilty in July of this year. Am I missing something?

Being found not guilty and being not guilty are 2 different things. Study the case in depth and get back to me. But anyway, I’m tired of beating this dead horse and if some teams want to give these 5 guys a shot, more power to them. I don’t have to like them or their lack of character and human decency. They aren’t in my family or affecting my life. The minute my daughter starts talking to Carter Hart, then we have a problem….

Yeah that horse is long demised. I will say that nobody seems to be in any particular hurry to give all five of those guys a shot. 4 of them are playing in Europe, while only Hart is back in the NHL. McLeod is the only other one who got even a sniff of interest and we honestly don't have any idea how serious that even was or if it went beyond a couple of phone calls. Not correcting anybody or anything. Just contextualizing.

I mean, Stone is hurt ... again ... so I don't know what to tell ya. He'll be out long enough to LTIR him at the reduced rate and gain enough Cap room to get Hart registered and then they can defer making whatever roster moves they'll need to make to when Stone is healthy. It's not some sort of magic trick or anything, but Vegas does seem to be leaning into the heel act at this point.

Has anyone seen the Tampa GM and the Vegas GM on the same place at the same time?

Missed this yesterday but the Leafs put goalie Joseph Woll on LTIR. So if anyone was hoping for a quick Primeau return, it’s not happening.

After the Reaves/Rempe scrap, the Sharks went on to beat the Rangers for their first win of the season. Macklin Celebrini had a hattie and Reaves threw his helmet on the ice, he wasn’t sure if there were any Sharks fans at MSG.

Can’t believe Rempe still gets ice time in this league. He’s literally useless. I mean he’s not even a good enforcer.
He's been better this season, honestly. I think he could be a legit 4th line player if he'd stick to actually playing hockey. But that's it. There's a reason for the clown show ... it's the only way he's going to keep getting paid.

And he’s getting more than the NHL minimum, he has a $975k cap hit.

Old friend Sheldon Rempal was waived by Washington for purposes of contract termination, to pursue overseas opportunities. He played in the KHL last season but came back stateside this year.

Leafs announced that Joseph Woll is returning to the team and is eligible to play as of November 1st. So something to keep an eye on if Tulsky had any desire to get Cayden Primeau back. The Leafs may put Primeau on waivers on or after November 1 so perhaps the Canes want to see some more of what Bussi can do in the week ahead before making any decisions on that third goalie situation.

The beauty of the waiver system in this case is that no one else except for the Canes claim Primeau, the Canes will be able to immediately send Primeau to Chicago. We can keep Bussi around until Kochetkov is ready to return and hold off on a decision until then, even if we get Cayden Primeau back.
