The Official Post-Bitch 2025-26 Regular Season Thread

No doubt he did a shit job, but he was young and maybe learned some things.

But he still wouldn't be anywhere close to my first choice. They had so much draft capital and cap space and by the end of his time there, his team was still below average. Not ideal.

Yeah, I don't see anything compelling about his record in Arizona. Bad drafting, and shuffling deck chairs, with seriously mixed results in the free agent market.

I get that he had extremely limited resources, but I don't see a whole lot of creative thinking aside from the Crouse trade which the idea of was pretty, pretty good.

So, earlier I asked a question about Chayka:

And Ok, so he wasn’t qualified at 26…exactly what job experience between then and now makes him qualified now?

Just thought I should point out that the article Volc posted has answered the question of what kind of relevant job experience Chayka’s been amassing since his departure from the Coyotes to prepare himself for the most high-profile, high-pressure GM job in the NHL:

correct me if I'm wrong

if the Leafs get their pick this year, then because both Flyer and Bruin 1sts got bumped, they will both be unprotected for the next 2 seasons
if the Leafs lose their pick to Boston, then next year's Flyer pick is top 10 protected
