The Official Post-Bitch 2025-26 Regular Season Thread

I think LGM labelled him "Peddie 2.0" which is a very accurate moniker for him. He's a corporate arselick that loves being in front of the camera and loves the attention in Toronto. Peddie at least has the '02 team that Quinn built to hang his hat on. This is something ownership needs to address but much like Rogers Support, good luck with that.

I agree! The comms guys at mlse did quite well today considering the circumstances. The fuck would we care if Bruce Arthur or Rosie Dimanno melt down over a hire? Let them spiral.
 
Peddie's claim to fame is hiring well-respected oldboys network experienced AGMs as his prize new GMs (JFJ, Rob Babcock), and specifically for pushing the mighty Quinn out.

Yah but he was still the Pres at the time of the '02 run and is the type of guy (like Pelley) to say "I did that". Fuck even their last names are phonetically similar
 
the chayka-hating nerds will all get on board after he replaces brooby with cassidy, and immediately makes a bunch of easy obvious analytics-friendly moves.

I haven't seen any of the nerds actually do a current deep dive into Chayka's arizona tenure - and i'm pretty sure it's because a bunch of them quickly refreshed themsslves on his moves and realized they actually look pretty good.
 
There is only one way to respond to someone who is confused about the hierarchy of an advisor vs head of hockey operations/GM. And it's not to actually answer the question or an imaginary question about roster construction and philosophy. You laugh, dismiss them, and move on.

Peddler seems like a lost cause — maybe if you asked him about eyewear he might provide a memorable answer

Lots of interesting UFAs this summer on the nerdies that could be reasonably priced. Should be fairly straight forward to replace Brad's depth with some actual decent players. That alone is a major roster improvement. New coach is another. And I'm most interested to see what he does with the D - that's gonna be harder. And it's something he stressed as something he needs to fix.

Exciting times! Not sure how nerds aren't ecstatic that the Brad era is over and a data guy is GM. This is so fucked.
