2025-26 Canes Miscellaneous Thread

Heading out to DelFest in Cumberland, MD tomorrow. https://www.delfest.com/ (Bluegrass fans will understand.) Will be watching the games on YouTube TV late at night after the music, and the campground jamming, ends.
Sweet! I'm envious. Have a blast. Love the Infamous Stringdusters and AKUS with Russell Moore & Jerry Douglass. Michael Cleveland & Jason Carter are exceptional too.

Was lucky to find uppers at the season ticket holder presale window for $175 a seat so I’m happy with that price point!!!

One nitpick thing I think the Canes do a shitty job at is the dynamic pricing on the food and beverage stuff. I get the higher pricing for second and third round stuff for things like tickets and even parking and what not but no way in hell you should be gouging on shitty beer like Storm Brew and jacking prices up $3 and $4 a beer for one round of playoffs. Sometimes the greed just looks really bad when you make such a drastic price change for one series to the next for stuff that certainly hasn’t change price one bit on cost. From $11 to $14.50 for one round for a can of Storm Brew is ridiculous…Arthur Blank and the Falcons have had a small tier of affordable pricing items for years for NFL games and it’s the right thing to do for a certain segment of your fanbase!

I have noticed the playoff round 2 and round 3 price increases on all food and beverage. Do they drop those prices back down to what was the standard pricing for other events outside of the Canes playoff games?

What I am expecting is that wherever the prices end the playoffs at will be the starting point for those prices for the next regular season and all other events.

I dunno if the increases extend beyond the Canes games. There’s not even a non-hockey event scheduled until June 13th to test it out. Whoever is going to see someone named Carin Leon on 6/13, let us know. Not sure if we have any Mexican R&B fans on the board tho

Don’t know if it’s behind a paywall, but Chip has an article on video coach Chris Huffine.

I remember the first time I met Chris. He was working for his families construction company and had just started doing the whole video thing. Back when they were still using VCR tapes his little closet next to the coaches office had a couple of contraptions with about 10 VCR's. It's a lot easier to chop up tape digitally these days then when he had to do it on tape. Plus, he would also provide scouting tapes for visiting teams. If Montreal was playing Pitt and Philly next, Chris would record their games for their video guy. I am sure he is much happier in this digital world and he might actually get home before 5am these days. He showed me all of the bells and whistles on how he cuts up tape and it's pretty cool...much more complex than you'd think and he has video for every situation available....and he does it all live during the game so the coaches have the video cut up by the morning or even right after the period.

I was pondering on how much I'd love to see a F.O. PK sign in the (ESA, RBC Center, Lenovo, etc.) stands.
Is it just me? I bet not. {Polar's word} that guy.

Jim
Why? It’s 8 years under the bridge. He brought them here but ran out of money and found a guy that had the wherewithal to spend.
