I normally have zero faith in anyone in the NHL doing the right thing, but i have to think either the investigation or the current backlash is going to prevent this from happening
 
This is part of the external variables that apply pressure on the ability of Canadian teams to win a cup. With the NMC, most Canadian teams tend to be on the no-trade list. Removing this obstacle would allow higher income teams to acquire players.

Alas, the NHL really doesn’t give a rats ass about Canada. Neither does the NHLPA.
