The more I think about it the more I like EP as 2C if Vancouver is retaining.

Dom projects +7 next year (6 OFF, 1 D). He hasn’t been sheltered at all. Can play with Willy and is better defensively than JT. Will make Mats happy.

Yeah, the more I think about the idea of acquiring Pettersson, the more I warm up to it. Not every day you can acquire a 27 year-old potential #1 center essentially for the cost of taking on his contract. And there’s also the possibility of Vancouver retaining.

Also feels like a strong potential bounce-back situation if you get him out of what’s been a very toxic situation in Vancouver for the past few years and drop him into a lineup where he’s well insulated and has teammates who can actually score.

I mean, in another universe Brad Treliving never checks in on Raddysh due to costs, is outbid for Rasmus Anderson, tries for days to convince Jacob Trouba to play in Canada with a 6 x 7 offer and misses, then pivots to Logan Stanley and or Luke Schenn cause of snot on 4 and 2 year deals.

Maybe this new regime was always going to operate this way, but I can't help but wonder if this is Pelley's way of slapping down the media cabal for being unreasonably aggressive and unprofessional at that first PC.
