Yeah, I appear to be in the minority, but I don't think they did poorly at all. This is a good, deep draft and even if they can't move up they're going to get a really good prospect here, the type that would go top 5 in a lot of other drafts.

I get the reflex to not see a roster player involved and not like it, but imo that just means they have 8.75 million in cap space they can go out and work a trade for to get a replacement for. I mean, you could keep the 9th and flip the other 2 1sts, and 2nd for a pretty good player.

It is shit for them that no one wants to play for them and they have to move out stars, but i dont think this is the one to be upset about. He all but assuredly demanded out and wasnt going to reup.

Pretty good value espcially if his list was fucking Florida, Vegas etc

Draft picks are grossly misvalued in my opinion. A first round pick is treated by the media as a generic bucket… in reality, after the top 12 or so it’s a a meh asset but a top five pick is amazing and a top ten is quite good.

I never said it's impossible for it to work out but you are leaving a considerable amount to chance going this route, their best bet is to try and flip stuff for another 1st line forward under 30 somehow
