The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to go after Tuch before he hits the open market (Raddysh type move).

Yes it’ll likely be a bad contract in 4-5 years… it is what it is. No surrendering assets, keep them for another big move or to fill in organically over time

I think that was the idea behind the Knies trade. Find a big body to play on the top line, then move Slaf to the second line where he plays somewhat like a centre (drives play but doesn’t take face offs) until another 2C candidate emerges, either externally or internally.

Knies would’ve / would require asset expenditure, Tuch wouldn’t.
