Nothing regarding possible corruption in the NBA is ever far-fetched. They wanted the biggest generational star in the league's biggest market. They made sure it wasn't left to chance. Too much money at stake to allow Ewing to get drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers of the Ted Stepien era or the then-Kansas City Kings.
