GDT #44: 2025/1/11 - no excuses

Team's been a bit worn down lately but tonight it's the Leafs that are the rested team at home while the canucks are on the backend of a back to back and 3rd in 4 nights, on the road, and had to stay overnight in carolina due to snow and are flying in right now. And the nucks are in a bit of a funk right now and trade rumours are going nuts.

So yeah, no excuses.

Hildeby starts.

holmberg and reaves sit, but mcmann goes back to the 3rd line with Patches on the 2nd line. I'm starting to suspect that berube really really doesn't want to play a patches-domi-robby line together and really feels that 3rd line needs a fast physical forechecker on it no matter what - the last two games it was lorentz there while patches and robby rotated in and out of the lineup.

it's too bad because i think mcmann was looking really good on the 2nd line, and i think this lorentz-kampf-dewar line is definitely our best 4th line.

I get why patches-domi-robby might not work but i don't think it would hurt to try.

I agree that McMann looked like he belonged on the 2nd line. If the Leafs blow this one I am going to have a serious hate on for them.

PS: I'm also ready to trade Domi and Holmberg and Reaves (Nylander is on thin ice as well) :)

I see the talking point tonight will be Matthews/Marner +/- yet they had zero to do with a fluke redirect goal

I am convinced that Berubes game plan is too have the team coast through the 1st period and then turn it up for the last two??
