Depends what you think much is.. what people are forgetting is that Monty was picked up on waivers. The VALUE we are getting from him is he fits in perfect for the transition to Fowler, maybe Dobes also. His salary is peanuts and if he has another year like this one i can see him getting as high as a 2nd rounder especially from a team needing reassurance in the nets for a playoff run..

I wouldnt trade him unless the Habs get another stop gap vet to work with Fowler , cant go all youth in net

Matheson is entering his final season looking for his last retirement contract with term

I still think Hugo pissed away a Suzuki deal last year but he helped us make the playoffs

I think Jake Allen is available ;)

As for Suzuki, not sure what deal you think was pissed away. The guy had 89 points. I don't know why we'd be looking to trade him.
 
Point is we don’t take the “next step” without Matheson. No playoffs. No meaningful games after December. We’re just another version of the sad sack Sabres. And good lucking trying to land a coveted UFA this summer (we’re gonna need some luck anyway)

This summer is different. We could trade him (but probably won’t)

I agree, hindsight trades are pointless, rebuilds need quality guys like Matheson..
 
Money talks. Panthers got Jones as leverage. He could take a team friendly deal but I doubt it.

He will have plenty of suitors sure, this is where we see how good HuGo really are. This is the next phase which is much harder.
