The only way I see value in 4 years is if a team feels like it can win a cup in the first two years of that contract. Edmonton, Carolina, Dallas, Colorado, Vegas, Toronto.

I'd argue most overrated player in NHL history. I wanted to jump out of a window in 2015 when people said he was 'better overall" than Crosby

Can a guy who leads his team to 3 Cups be "overrated"?
He was never better than Crosby but I don't think that a majority of pundits ever thought he was.

Maybe not a majority, but a frightening amount of “iamverysmart” galaxy-brain types in the hockey world put out plenty of think pieces about Toews being better than Crosby, back in the period when Toews had multiple Cups and Sid just had the one.

Well as has been said, one of the biggest skills a player can have is availability. Crosby never had to miss years of time like Toews has.

The "Two way" play stuff has gone overboard. Crosby in his prime was actually a really good defensive forward and was destroying Towes offensively. So are the 2 way player people saying defensive play is so much more important than offensive play? Feels that way.
It's like the knocks on Evan Bouchard in the playoffs.

Well, Sid missed a ton of time at his peak. He'd be going for 2000+ points if not.
