GDT: Stanley Cup Final Game 6 Canes @ Vegas 6/14 8:00

This! This team exemplified what it takes to win—group effort. No one individual is responsible for the win; however, more than having a Barkov and Goalie Bob, or Crosby, Malkin and Flower, this was an effort by committee. JORDO on face offs and that goal streak, the Stankhoven line’s scoring, a power play that got stick poked by Torts, the play of Miller and Slavin…There will be injury reports coming out, but this was a Stanley Cup win by committee.

What a story this team has created. So many firsts along the way, especially in the Cup Final. And this story was created by individual compelling stories by the players. Maybe it's because I'm getting more sentimental in my older age, but this team seems to be more storybook than even the '06 Cup winning team.

What a team, what a series, and what a finish! Got about 5 hours of sleep after watching the game last night before heading out early this morning for a planned event. Since I returned home, I've been reading as much as I possibly can - but I had to stop first to read the comments on this fantastic board. We are united in our love for the Canes and in our respect for each other - and there's no place I'd rather share my thoughts on all things Hurricanes than right here.

I know I've harped on the lack of star power on this team. And they've really shown that it's team power, not star power, that matters. When top lines weren't scoring, Robinson, Janakowski, Staal would score. Defense contributed. I heard something on YouTube their other day, don't recall who it was, about the Canes picking up guys like Chatfield, Bussi, Jankowski, Miller, etc and no one would ever picture them in the positions they are today, contributing in the way they are today. Tulsky is giving Rod round pegs to pound into round holes. We don't need to even point who the square pegs were.

If you guys ever get a chance, go seek out the two post game interviews from Sportsnet.ca last night...Kyle Bucaskas with Jordo and Elliott Friedman and David Amber with Ehlers...if you ever want to see genuineness and appreciation and how great hockey players are as people you will see it in spades.
