Nadeau absolutely drilling a defenseman before scoring that goal was a beautiful thing. Ryabkin blew up a few guys too. These Wolf cubs are fiesty

Did you forget the Wolves played their first Calder Cup game yesterday? Well they lost to the Marlies 4-2.

4-2 after empty netter..Miftakhov made it back to Chicago to tend net and take the L after being the EBUG here Thursday night.

A quick look at the AHL out of town scoreboard brought to you by Marley Drugs…the Chicago Wolves AKA Baby Canes 2 and the Toronto Marlies 2. Charles Alexis Legault and Noah Philp with the goals for Chicago. Second period…

The Greensboro Gargoyles named Mitch Giguere as their new head coach. He spent the last 3 season as an assistant with the Wheeling Nailers.

The Wolves lost game 3, 1-0. All hell broke loose at the end of the game, every player except the goalies got a misconduct. The Marlies can clinch on Thursday.

Weird thing about this Calder Cup Finals spilling into Toronto and that Coca Cola/Ricoh arena area...the World Cup soccer games are literally going on in the same parking lot/events area as the arena in Toronto and if that series sees a Chicago win tonight they will go right back at it tomorrow night too in the same rink!

As a kid, my best friend and I attended a Blue Jays game at the old Exhibition Stadium in the same general area where the Marlies play, his Mom got lost and could not find us so we sat stranded in the Big Smoke in Toronto for hours on end!!! Back in the day...no cell phones, no texting, just shit out of luck!!!

Yeah, they need to figure out how to move on from that 24-25 year old group of forwards because none of them have a chance in hell of landing on the big roster. Tricky, because of the number of Russians we have in the pipeline that are not filling that gap. Also tricky because ownership in Chicago will expect them to re-load with expensive AHLers that don’t do Carolina any good. Double tricky.

Here is how Ryabkin and Cerrato ended up:

Charlie Cerrato C (2nd Round 2025 Big Ten Penn St. So./AHL Chicago):
With Penn St.: 23 Games 7 Goals 20 Assists +3
With Chicago: Did not play in regular season. PLAYOFFS: 1 Game 0 Goals 0 Assists Even Apparently Cerrato was only trusted with that single playoff game.

Ivan Ryabkin C (2nd Round 2025 QMJHL Charlottetown/AHL Chicago):

With Charlottetown: 20 Games 13 Goals 29 Assists +13 PLAYOFFS 6 Games 4 Goals 5 Assists +2 Charlottetown lost their 1st round series 3-4.
With Chicago: 31 Games 1 Goal 9 Assist +1 PLAYOFFS: 21 Games 4 Goals 5 Assists +5
