  • Canada is suspending negotiations and recalling our negotiation team

  • The US 50% tariffs will be matched with dollar-for-dollar counter-tariffs

This was Friday night. Talks will conclude Monday evening since TACO is next day.

Yup. Deals with Trump don't actually mean anything. The deal, for him, is about the process of appearing to be a tough, serious business guy for domestic political consumption.

Deal or no deal, the moment he felt like he could use us for anything that benefited him, the deal would be off.
