2026-27 Canes Miscellaneous Thread

Like a dog with its tail between his legs. Canes have a great room so I’m sure they won’t ice him out even though he 100% deserves it. I’m not even sure I want him here. Actually, I know I don’t
 
Wonder if the Hellybuk trade made this happen. He didn’t want to sign and get traded there and we wanted to keep him as an option for a multi team deal.
 
I have no idea of the player’s perspective or what is said behind closed doors, but my impression is he’s a big pouty, suck baby and that’s certainly not the character of this team. He has a lot of room for emotional growth and maturity.

All that insight from a contract negotiation. You should start a 800 number or point your own high powered perception at your post and tell us what that says about you.
 
I wonder if it was common sense kicking in, swallowing his pride, or advice from his agent that finally got Nikishin to pull his head out of his ass and sign a deal? He had to know that GMET wasn't going to cave in to his delusional desired contract numbers. What was the trigger that woke Niki to wake up and smell the coffee?

I think he realized he had no leverage, he had no money coming in and he was about to lose a full years worth of earning potential if he continued to sit at home and pout, hold out whatever you want to call it. Couple that with another mouth to feed and support on the home front and the fact the Canes never skipped a beat without him and it was probably best to get something done and get back to work!
