Its like I said in the bar, for the football fan the game was exciting because there were quite a few end to end chances and close calls. But for the casual fan it was probably a boring match. But it was a well played defensive game from both sides and either team could have won. Argentina's problem was that they really only have one guy to rely on, Germany had a team.
 
Schweinsteiger was a beast in this match. An absolute monster. Gets punched in the face and split open, kicked and hacked again and again...gets right back in there. For me the players I feel the best for are him, Klose and Phillip Lahm.. the guys who have been there as main cogs and fallen just short in recent tournaments. This trophy is a sweet reward for that disappointment and a deserved one for a great group of players.

What a way for Klose to round out his legend, takes top spot from Ronaldo on his own turf and lifts the championship trophy. we stood and applauded as he came off the pitch, truly the end of an era.

And a dream come true for Gotze....what a great goal to win it all.

Can someone tell me why Messi won the Golden Ball, apart from the influence of Adidas? He wasn't even the best player for Argentina.
