2016 Dynasty Baseball Trade Thread

I like that deal a fair bit for both squads.

No pics upsets me greatly tho.......this guerilla unground movement of hairnova's is picking up steam, and I don't like it one bit.

Okay, I'm confused about the league. I thought the team giving the worse player was supposed to give up the better draft pick, no?

And apologies for the lack of pictures before.

Jay Bruce, on learning he was traded.

Zack Cozart had a 1.8 FPPG before being injured last year, with 9 HR's in 194 AB's (damn near a 30 HR pace)......with increases to his FB%, LD% while decreasing his IFFB% & GB%....he was also hitting the ball harder than usual. All in line with some of the power potential he'd flashed in the minors.

Alcides Escobar had a 1.45 FPPG and needed more than 1,800 at bats to hit his last 9 HR's.

I can't speak for Jonas.....but that's why Zack Cozart was going to be a keeper for me....and why Alcides wasn't a player I even asked for, but was tossed in as filler, because Jonas needed to clear a roster spot.

I'm not sure I wouldn't rather have Eugenio Suarez than Zack Cozart. Jonas has really done a great job this offseason improving your team.

I guess this is the old, "the way the fantasy points work, this deal makes some sense". Guess it's whether you believe Cozart can be that 20+ HR guy, which for a SS is valuable, even if his OBP barely cracks .300. And not like Escobar has a much better OBP either and certainly doesn't have the power.

My opinion? Escobar is a pretty bad hitter, but Cozart is absolute trash. In 2014 he was literally the worst hitter in the MLB of qualified hitters, in 543 AB's. The two previous seasons (and 1200+ more AB's) he was terrible, not worst player in the league terrible, but still terrible.

My team finished 18th this year though, so I probably shouldn't comment.

If one ignores 2015....I don't think there's any argument it wouldn't make sense.

In 2013 he was the 9th ranked SS in our format.....2012, had a 1.53 FPPG which is usually a lock for top 10 at the position if you play enough games.

If Jonas gets 1.55-1.65 FPPG SS play for ostensibly the cost of a swap of a 2nd and 4th....he'll have made out fine. If Cozart is 1.65+ it's a steal.

If Zach Cozart was a Top 9/10 SS in our format in 2012 or 2013 then maybe we re-visit the scoring discussion? *dodges tomatoes*

Wait, swap of a 2nd and 4th? Didn't Jonah give up a 1st for a 3rd?

HP 1st (likely to be 17-19 in the round), my 3rd, is most likely the last pick of the 3rd or close to it.

People get caught up in the labels of the picks but it's two very late picks in their respective rounds.....that have value closer to that of a high pick in the 2nd or high 4th, than they do even a mid 1st or mid 3rd.

Hence...."ostensibly"
