Exactly a week after designating him for assignment, the White Sox have released embattled starter Mat Latos. The 28-year-old had been solid early on, posting dominant numbers in April before it all fell apart. While his record is still encouraging at 6-2, his ERA has ballooned up to 4.62 on the year. There is no clear ideal destination for Latos, although you would imagine he’d get another opportunity this season given his position and the importance of starting pitching.
