Canes are selling off 24 packs of Storm Brew for cheap ($15, cash only) on Saturday. In case you need it ...
Good idea to try to sell it all for something before it skunks. There is a bigger issue of massive numbers of kegs of beers that are going unused because of the shutdowns. With no one to drink the beer in the kegs, its going to all go bad and have to be dumped eventually as the kegs themselves are expensive and need to be emptied at some point for reuse.
Yeah ... doubly sad because several other offerings from R&D are actually quite good. So you know they're capable of much better and still produced that cross between "lite beer" and unflavored White Claw. Still, those are Carling Black Label prices, boys.I wish it tasted better than it does...the name and logo might be the best part of that creation sadly.
If you want the good stuff, White St Brewing in Wake Forest is still doing curb pickup. I think Kurtzie is a fan of the Kolsch ... for good reason.
Yep, I've made a good dent in the case of White Street Kolsch I picked up there two weeks ago!
You have any recommendations for something other than an IPA from Compass Rose? They're literally right up the street from me.I haven’t had a bad beer from White St. yet. As for RnD, if you like IPAs, their Seven Saturdays is pretty good. Stay away from LoCal Resolution. It’s advertised as low calorie, low carb. I’d add low taste to the mix I haven’t tried any of their other offerings at the arena. Wegmans has a pretty good selection of their beers.
It looks like most of the locals are doing pickup/to go orders...Lonerider, Big Boss, Aviator, Bull City Ciderworks, Compass Rose, etc.
My drive-thru Brewgaloo order was heavy on IPAs. I ordered a 6 pack of IPAs, a 12 pack of mixed beers and 2-4 packs of ciders. What I ended with was 8 ciders, 2 lagers, 1 each of sour, pale ale, imperial stout, and wheat ale and 12 IPAs. So the 12 pack of mixed beers was half IPAs. Don’t get me wrong, I like them. I would have preferred a bigger variety in the 12 pack.
I am not an IPA guy either. You have any recommendations for something other than an IPA from Compass Rose? They're literally right up the street from me.

It's been a while since I've been to Compass Rose, but I recall that they used to have a Belgian Red Ale that I enjoyed. (Of course, right after I typed this and before I posted it, I went to their website and could not find such a brew on their online menu.)
I am in fact a bitter old man, and for the record I only like a very specific range of IPAs so it's easier just to avoid them when trying anything new. I don't mind the ones that aren't so hops-forward and sharp that they give you instant acid reflux ... but those are fairly rare in that category. There's a couple of Juicy IPAs I like as well ... particularly something like Mandarina from Highland. And I actually like some sours, but that's another variety I'm definitely sampling before committing. You’re not IPA guys because you’re not bitter old men like me.
My go-to choices are amber ales and pale ales ... especially when I don't know what I'm getting myself into.Never liked IPA but maybe because the ones I tried were not good. Can't recall which ones they were. I prefer brown ale .

It's frustrating though, to go to most of these smaller breweries and all they really offer that I'll drink blind is stout. I like stout, for the most part ... but it's not an all situations option.
