Can the guy making the giant silver asterisk for the 2020 Stanley Cup Winner make a second one for the Houston Astros World Series win???

Was there an asterik for the seasons with 48 games? Also if you go way back prior to 1949 every season was 50 games or less. and yes I know there were only 6 teams then.

I dunno ... were any of those seasons determined by some BS version of the playoffs that included teams that wouldn't have actually qualified for the playoffs if anybody had bothered to follow the rules everybody started the season with ... combined with a 2-3 month cold break in the middle of proceedings? No. No they weren't. So, yeah ... asterisk. In fact, forget that and just award a bronzed baby shoe instead of the Cup because this is all just some sort of weird attempt to con the television sponsors into ponying up their full contract money for a weird, inferior product.

They don't even deserve that. They ought to be required to put a plaque on one of those trash cans and hand back the actual hardware.
 
NFL, MLB and NHL played through WW 2 even though many players were drafted or volunteered for service. NBA started in 1946 so they were not impacted.

Don't understand why it would be inferior. Lack of fans? Was the race yesterday inferior? Or the German soccer?

One of the 8 teams that shouldn't have had a sniff at the playoffs winning the championship would be inferior, IMO.

As for a hub city hosting up to 12 teams... well, better stay out of my city.

I'll do this once ... and only once.

The season was presumed to 82 games played by all teams under the same conditions on an agreed upon schedule, followed by a 16 team playoff based on the agreed upon rules. Whatever nonsense they are cooking up now is simply NOT THAT ... and is thus something different, and by my own judgement inferior. Agree or don't ... whatever.
 
I think adding teams is reasonable since some of those teams might have made it if everyone played 82 games. Of course the real reason is to add teams who bring higher TV ratings. It was not that long ago , 1991, that 16 of 21 teams made the playoffs.

BTW if they cancelled the season now I would be OK with that.
 
If the NBA started the playoffs now with 16 teams they would have 3 teams under .500 in the playoffs. Not an NBA fan but if I was that would be OK because that's the setup they have. What's the big deal? It's just one year. I'm pretty sure the sun will come up if they have 20 or 24 teams.

A multi-state group of AGs has reached a $550M settlement with Santander -- Dundon's former company -- for violating consumer protection laws. NC will receive $27M of the settlement.

The investigation started in March, 2015. Dundon is listed in the 2015 Proxy Statement as a founding partner. He was President from May 2005-November 2013, adding CEO in December 2006. In December 2013, he was named Chairman of the board of directors. He resigned as chairman/CEO effective July 2, 2015 but remained a director. He left the board sometime before the 2016 annual meeting.
 
Elite Prospects tweeted a rumor that Brian Gibbons will sign with Lausanne in the Swiss League. For whatever that’s worth.

Also, for any Fayetteville Marksmen fans, Taylor McCloy has signed with Nantes in FFHG, Division 1. It’s the 2nd level of hockey in France.
