A sextuple double?Last night, Nikola Jokic scored a triple double before half time. He then went on and nabbed *another* triple double before the end of the game. A double triple double?

Damn. Loved his golf books.John Feinstein died suddenly today. He was only 68. He died at his brother’s home. His last article for the Washington Post was published yesterday. At this time of year, it was predictably about college basketball, in this case Tom Izzo.
Besides his columns, he was a prolific author. Whatever sport you wanted, he wrote about it, except hockey. I missed a few along the way but I read most of his books.

He threatened to block me on Twitter because I called the Palestra a dump. When I was at Villanova, and most of our Big East games were there, it was. I think he was half serious. DeCock was also involved in the conversation, he went to Penn and the Palestra was their home court. Neither ended up blocking me.In my line of work (my second fun job as a s sports photographer) I’ve been able to talk with him a few times over the years in various media rooms. Mostly either at Duke or Carolina or at various final 4’s. He was an interesting person with a million great stories and was always approachable and friendly…at least to me.

Woolen gym says hi.The most fun I've ever had on a delayed flight came when I got sat on the same row as Feinstein and Bob Ryan on a flight out of Tampa the morning after the ACC Tournament when a string of thunderstorms off the Gulf blew up the morning departure schedules. Half the people on the plane were supposed to be on another flight and nobody was real happy. They both started bitching about not being in first class and then ended up swapping war stories for an hour and a half straight. It was epic.
And yes, the Palestra is a dump. So were Reynolds and Cameron before they got renovated. All those old barns were dumps at some point.
Dump or not, we saw some great ball played by some great players there. The most fun I've ever had on a delayed flight came when I got sat on the same row as Feinstein and Bob Ryan on a flight out of Tampa the morning after the ACC Tournament when a string of thunderstorms off the Gulf blew up the morning departure schedules. Greensboro Coliseum was and is massive, and it used to have a 10' deep layer of cigarette smoke fug trapped below the acoustic tile ceiling by the end of the first day of the ACC Tournament. It was noxious in the upper deck. That was the bane of a lot of those buildings built in the 60s and 70s. The older arenas with the glass end walls offered more ventilation options ... mostly because they were always missing some glass panels. We've come a long way in big public space design over the years but the best thing that happened to arena upkeep was the decline of indoor smokingSmoking - that reminded me of when we played in arenas much much smaller than today’s. Fams could smoke in them and by the third period we could barely breath.
And standing in other people's urine in those corner bathrooms while the winter wind blew through the leaky fixed pane windows? Then you'd go back to your seat, bonking your head on a steel beam and barking your skins on the seat backs along the way, and sweat like you were in Aho's Finnish sauna. I have fond memories of the old barn too, but I remember the bad with the good.Dump or not, we saw some great ball played by some great players there.
I hope to remember the smell of popcorn and cigarette smoke in Reynolds until the day I die.
They were the top seed and beat 2nd seeded Medfield High School, making my niece an unhappy alum, if she cared about hockey. But the Medifield girls won the Division II championship, so maybe she’d feel better. If she cared about hockey. The school is down the road from my mother-in law’s house.Cape Cod’s Nauset High took home their first ever Massachusetts Division III boys hockey title yesterday at TD Garden, making my wife a very proud alum.
Well, I didn't mention drop/add, so there is that! And standing in other people's urine in those corner bathrooms while the winter wind blew through the leaky fixed pane windows? AAGGG.Well, I didn't mention drop/add, so there is that!
I love ripping my daughter on all that shit she's missing, whereupon she whips out her world's smallest violin. She is daddy's little girl!AAGGG.
I actually worked drop/add in Reynolds for the Music Department one year. I don't remember who exactly I ticked off to get that particular assignment in hell's waiting room, but ... woof. The drop/add forms kept sticking to our hands and they didn't make enough towels for the sweat.
