2019-Whenever Misc. Grab Bag Thread

Is the MLBPA going to be willing to burn the league to the ground in the battle against any sort of salary cap? I suspect they are.

Hopefully both sides find some common ground. Salary caps hardly have ruined the other 3 major sports leagues. If anything, they have actually allowed the leagues to thrive. But MLBPA has had 'no salary cap' drilled into their collective heads to the point where compromising on that is going to be really hard for them.

What comes first, the strike or a lockout? My money is on the latter.

There will be a long lockout. Owners have been stockpiling cash in their sock drawers for about a decade preparing for this. A lot of insiders predicted last year that this may end up being the longest lockout in history due to the issues at hand. We will see

Great. My Cardinals finally shed a stuck in the old days front office and start to gain some momentum and we’re heading for labor hell … again. If they do go to war over this, it’ll likely last a while. There’s VERY little common ground on this issue and MLBPA is not one of the typically spineless sports labor unions.

The Cards are getting good again? Well, maybe a prolonged lockout is just what this old soul needs.

PSG outlasts Arsenal in the final. I really wish football would go to hockey and not do stupid penalties in games like this. Arsenal frustrated PSG all day. Yea yea I know arsenal should have just scored more in regulation…. that’s not the point and I’d say the same thing if they won. I texted my buddies in our PL text group before the game started about hoping it didn’t go to penalties. It’s just something I’ve never liked
