Oh absolutely, but he would have taken one look at the Kushner privatization scheme and just have done the Mad Max "That's bait" meme and avoided it. Not saying he's better, I left his middle name in for a reason, just that he was smarter.

The US U-20 Men’s National Team has qualified for the 2027 U-20 World Cup by virtue of making the semifinals in the CONCACAF U-20 tournament. If they win, they’ll also qualify for the 2027 Pan American Games. The winners of the tournament also qualifies for the 2028 Olympics, but the US has already qualified as host.

For context, Leicester now reside in League One after a disaster season in the Championship. There’s nothing left of their winning rosters, as they have chased short term fix after short term fix, with predictable results. Oh, and they hired the worst manager in Rangers history this summer. Russell Martin lasted 123 days at Ibrox and managed to piss off everybody involved … aside from Celtic fans, who loved the guy. Nice choice there.

Anybody buying Leicester is certainly buying when the market is low.

WHOA! Shocking and I don't hate it at all. We lost our identity in recent times and that identity had previously been shared to Barca via Cruijff, so this is just full circle. At the very least, he won't play CBs as his wingback/winger.

Yeah. I figure if Bayern Munich can survive and thrive under coaches who aren’t German, then the Netherlands can figure out how to deal with being coached by a Spaniard. And as VDC notes, a lot of the Barca flavor comes from Cruijff anyway. Xavi is certainly competent and young enough to be relevant. Should be a good fit.

Yeah, Wednesday went through all sorts of financial drama last year and ended up being given a winding up order as well. So it’s football fan in Sheffield generally who are suffering not just Irons fans. Shame. That’s a city that’s been through a lot over the years.

Shakhtar Donetsk will play their home Champions League matches at Stamford Bridge. After all, Chelsea won’t be using it for European matches. ;)

Shakhtar haven’t played a home match since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. Donetsk is just 30 miles west of the Russian Border. They played their home Leage matches in Lviv, on the other side of Ukraine, about 750 miles from Donetsk. They used stadiums in Slovenia and Poland last year, but playing in London gave them the opportunity to play all 4 group stage matches in 1 stadium.

Edu’s contract at Nottingham Forest was terminated and he joined Bulgarian champions Levski Sofia. He joined Forwst as Global Head of Football, which included Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis’ other clubs, Olympiacos in Greece and Rio Ave in Portugal. He had not been at the City Ground since early this year and had effectively stopped working in the spring. With Levski Sofia, he is a member of a newly-formed 5 person Board of Directors that will elected a chairman and executive director.
